    Unleaded or Super

Ok so what should i be running my S2 on?
i read some people say only super and nothing else some people say depends how you drive it some people say just unleaded?
So whats the pros and cons of both?
    are there any side effects?

    Kind regards,

    Rob

If you have a look in your filler car there will be a sticky lable saying what to use I think you should really be using 97+ ron. If your car is chipped it will run smoother on super, mine runs really smooth on Tesco 99, so that's all I put in or Shell Optimax. There was a big case with VW about the Polo's, they should have been run on 97+ron and the dealers didn't tell the customers hey presto a load of Polo's go back for work doin that's not under warranty. I was told by a mate who works at VW.

If I was you I'd run it on super unleaded! For the few pennies you'd save on using normal unleaded you might as well put the proper go go juice in.
Just some finishing touches to do now

I also think that if you use Super unleaded that you do get slightly better consumption figures....

        Also better BHP.....

I've only ever run optimax/v-power or BP premium if forced to! The v-power 100 ron in germany goes well

Go in and buy something electrical, say a microwave above £50, buy your petrol and take the microwave back the next day?.

I seem to get slightly better mpg from super, it's all I run mine on. At the end of the day there's no point in owning an S2 and worrying about fuel bills.

I try to run mine on optimax. It runs smoother but I can't always afford it due to poor wages and other commitments. I have used normal for a while and although the car didn't feel as smooth or as powerful I didn't notice a change in consumption to get worse. If anything I would say I got 30 or so miles less on a full tank of optimax! Maybe my right foot gets heavier with finer petrol but i wouldn't say so.....

if going on a long trip where i m looking for economy and won t be using a lot of WOT then i put normal unleaded in.....i then adjust my driving and make sure i don't use really aggressive throttle openings.....the things plenty fast enough with gentle accelerator movements and i rely on twin knock sensors

if i know its going to be for local use for a while or i ve got an A/B road 1 hr journey then i make sure it has super :mischeif:

def goes better and smoother on super

When we rebuild engines you can tell the person what fuel they are putting in it and the way they drive!!
                    Super/optimax/vpower/BPultimate.. etc the only choice!!
Do you drink the 3.5% piss or the 5% rocket fuel???

Shell V-power only for me, cost more but better mpg = cost the same! simple!
Probably the longet S2 project in history EVER!

I worked out that the £20 I spent on Esso Supreme the other day will get me 60-70 miles at current

Running the S2 on normal petrol will make it feel flat, stick in some super, it'll run better and do better mpg on a cruise, normally it's about the same % improvement as the % extra cost so it's win win really.

Oh, and if you're afre better fuel economy then the Homefries chip apparently makes a difference, not that I've eve broke 20 while having it fitted

Only ever Super/V-Power/Tescos/Whatever for me, aslong as its not normal 95!
Lately Ive been using Waitrose Super, and that is performing just as well as V-Power, and is 8p a litre cheaper than my local Shell

Been running mine on TEsco 99 since I had it and it is a damn site better than the 95ron. And you get points.... and waht do points make ???????

PRIZES (well money off your shopping/fuel every quater)

I have a Tesco Points credit card that I use for all my shopping there inc fuel. Works out that for every £1 you spend in store you get a point and on the CC every £4 you spend you get 5 points. All adds up and my last lot of points that came through yesterday = 1/2 tank of fuel. (£29.50) so worth it to save a lil bit of money (roughly 2 tanks of fuel a year)

My 2p's worth (as he ducks and runs for cover)

That's the main reason I use tesco 99 as it's cheaper by a long shot and the car seen to run smoother than on V-power!
