That needs a bit more than a mop although to be fair I'd love to have a go on that paintwork to see how well you could get it to come up. Looks similar to a MR2 I did in my valeting days which in fairness looked 200% better for a days work but still really wanted painting.

What it does show is how much of a bargain that sliver Coupe was that recently got sold for 2k !

I just dont get S2 prices. My black S2 did little more than that when we weren't in a recession, admittedly it needed some panelwork and paint but it was taxed and tested, had loads of new parts and drove really nicely.

Six years of years of whithering oil seals, aluminum corrosion, ie head,poor paint work, rust underneath,tyres fooked,wont start,wet carpets,no mot no tax,suspention shot,
proberbly had rodents nibbling the wireing,let alone the smell inside, all rubber hoses perished,and not just the waterhoses,brake and fuel lines corroded,and a price tag of £1550 at the moment, how many magic wands would you need.
Mind you as the man said there are no rips in the otherwise decaying leather,and it has a galvanized body, o and if your name is dex might help.

I bought a 96 2.8 coupe quattro a few months back on ebay been sat for six years aswell looked in similar condition only green with matching mold coloured interior.
Perfect condition when sat up, 6 years later needed: fuel pump,lines and tank new tyres, cats, brake pads/disks,loads of bushes and bearings, sunroof motor, central locking pump + various relays, a full fluid swap and service.
Looks and drives nice now

I would have said it was saveable but it's going to need alot of TLC and a fair amount of bits. Really suprised at the money it's fetching for the condition it's in though!

At first glance one assumes that the user a***s is the friend bidding up the price and that the user i***0 is the poor schmuck that they are shafting.

However, if you look at the bidding history of both users for the last 30 days, you find some interesting patterns: -

- Neither user had made any recent bids until 9 days ago (so that is 21 days with no activity from either user).

- Suddenly 9 days and 23 hours ago (from when I checked) one user made 3 bids on cars and the other user made 9 bids on cars.

- Other than a few sporadic bids on cars over the following couple of hours it all went quite again.

- Then, 6 days and 23 hours ago, one user made 10 bids on cars and the other made 15 bids on cars.

- Other than a few sporadic bids on cars over the following couple of hours it all went quite again.

- Then 4 days and 23 hours ago, the both made a combined total of 6 bids on cars.

Can anyone else see a pattern emerging?

- Then 2 days and 23 hours ago, more bids on cars, this time only from one user (couldn't be bothered to login twice?)

And you wonder why I think eBay is just the electronic version of a pub that all the crooks hang out in and fence their ill-gotten gains
