    s2....cab

As you may know someone rear ended my 3b s2 last month. its been settle and now i have a audi s2 with a smashed up rear end, so i predict a project.
my question is, will the engine and running gear (inc quatrro) from a 3b s2 coupe, go straight into a 90 cabriolet? i know in most the early VW's changes are pretty easy, are the 90 audis the same?
    Cheers for any advice/pointers

Straight in? No. Have a look here:

It will not go straight in, but it can be made to fit. There are a couple of s2 cab conversions done and a v6 (supercharged?) quattro cab in the states. Rear end will be a lot of work.

As far as I know it will not be a easy project, I don't think over here we ever got a quattro cab??? If you search through the forum there is a couple of S2 cab projects. If you do it as a FWD contact Tonks as he's the man to talk to about it as he has done one already. Good luck with the project and keep us all informed!

Kim Collins would be usefull guy to chat to as he did it back in about 1997 on a K plater I think. I believe it needed quite a bit of surgery to accept the running gear and also to stiffen it torsionally for the extra horsepower, he ended up at 428 brake I think! I had one ride in it and it was amazing. I remember there was an article in audi driver around that time with it on the front cover, probably have it somewhere.

I am a 2 cabby man now along with my s2. I have managed to buy back my old green cabby a week ago that has a 7a engine in it. And my red cabby that i put the 20vt in over xmas. The red one is at the paint shop for a full paint as we speak. It's not quattro yet but it will be. in it's current form though once you get traction it will stay with a boxter s.

I was actually referring to Kim's own maroon S2/RS2 cab.
