anyone in north london wanna change my thermostat??

hello if there is anyone in north london that can change my thermostat, let me know...

I've started taking bits off, but looks like i'm gonna have to remove the radiator because i cant get at it... so if anyone is in the area and knows what they're doing and isn't gonna charge me a ridiculous amount to do it then it'd be great!

Also be great to meet another S2 owner, been hoping to do so for a good while!

if not i'll put it all back together n take it down the garage i guess...

    cheers

    James,

If you don't have aircon the radiator lifts up & out pretty easily & quickly.

If you do have aircon the other way in is to remove the power steering pump and go in through there.

Either way have a good look at the two small water hoses around the thermostat housing and replace them if you're in any doubt. Also check the lower of the two oil pressure switches just behind the thermostat aren't leaking oil either.

Don't use any replacement thermostat that's got a jiggle pin / bleed hole in it.

There's plenty of posts on here detailing peep's experiences changing thermostats!

Sorry but I'm 100 miles from London or I'd do it.

    John

I'm 15 miles from Cambridge, A1 or M11 to get to me and I'd do it if you want.

Bit of a trek though !

I used this guide here, dest!

mine wasn't as complicated as this as, worryingly things weren't as secure!

There may be easier ways, but this is v helpful!

Did you have to remove the rad when you did it?

I did remove the rad, worryingly it wasn't as secure as it suggested it should be, but all good now!

Can't see any way Other than takin rad out, but thenn I'm certainly no expert!
