Stirling Moss Falls down lift shaft!

    Get well soon.

More to the point, how can this be possible? I would have thought it would be failsafe???

    Frightening!

Saw that on the BBC today, it sounds like he was lucky to only break his ankles - he reportedly fell 3 floors!

Hopefully he'll be driving again soon!

I watched a TV program about him years ago, it was shot at his home.... and I seem to remember that he had a lift in his house!! Funny how little things like that stick in your mind...

So I guess he will be suing himself..... Would not be surprised if lawyers4u would take that on, especially with the blame & claim culture we have now....

Apparently the lift was carbon fibre and made for him by the Williams F1 team!

They should stick to cars methinks... that is a pretty fundamental failure of the control system... horrible accident for anyone, but particularly bad for an aging legend such as Moss.

I've not read anywhere if the control system was anything to do with Williams so I'm exercising caution on that part of the story. If the control was by them and not just the structural aspect then it is a poor show.

Fair point, but someone would have had to sign off on the installation - maybe Williams just sub-contracted to supply something, but ouch.
