Competition stuff takes up a lot of time and the training starts to take over your life at a certain level.

I was playing canoe polo a lot for the last couple of years, however to make the GB squad you are meant to be on the water every day plus gym work, takes up too much time and stops being fun.

I do river running occasionally, play boating is something I haven't done much of past doing half loops and half cartwheels

Sea surfing is amazing, I spend a fair amount of time on the west coast and love the adrenaline rush from surfing waves.

They tried ( unsucessfully ) last year to change our shift times,to try and get 3 hrs more productivity out of the watch per day,and now we have been hit with a budget cut for next year...........we only man with 13 per watch but with sickness and leave we are generally down to 9-10 on the watch, which when you have no other help from neighbouring brigades it gets a little tense............ Anyway i digress, but agree with your closing statement..............

Andy I love surfing in the boats and on boards so I go to cornwal as often as I can. A fellow canoeist with an s2. Awesome. I did some polo for fun and quite enjoyed it really.

Hi Guys, Just to let you know, I had my fitness test on Monday and passed it so I now have an interview lined up not sure when but im expecting the phone call next week to book it in. I am also going to have to step up the training to make sure I am definately fit enough as I got to level 8 in the beep test and in order to get in I have to get to 8.6.... I probably would have been ok if that wasnt done at the end of the day and if I had been able to eat something an hour before hand to keep my energy levels right up. Anyway, just keeping you updated as said previously.

              Cheers
              Chris
