Back in the 1990's we never had any S2's / RS2's in our our local dealer. I know this because I used to work there! For the "nice" models you had to travel to Chester (posh!). As a kid I remember a 80 Avant in bright red 2.6! coming in for a pre-delivery de-wax and valet for the showroom, really nice car (at the time - you had to ba a doctor or dentist to order a 2.6 Avant!).
It was at that moment I fell for the German Harlot.
Fast forward to 2010, I found her again!

Funny thing is, today I drive exactly the same "laser red" avant, but with a S2 badge on the tailgate.
