      thanks
I think the camp will be mostly back to basic... I am not sure though, I live 30minutes away from Rudskogen so I have never been to the camp area. Try out the English section of the Gatebil Forum, you might get some accurate answers there http://www.gatebil.no/forum/viewforu...df88d9b0d29bce

The beer prices here are insane, goes for everythng with alcohol in it. We are used to it and tries to shop as much as possible when we are abroad The opening hours of pubs and nightclubs are also very restrictive. Goverment tries to get everyone to stop drinking... Only gets people to smuggle more and make more moonshine

if you can smuggle we should be able to do it aswell although a car with a Dutch number plate with 4 young guys won't help I guess

The legal limit is only 2 liters of beer and 1 liter of boose I think, so extremly restrictive compared to EU regulations. BUT if you dont bring waaaay to much, as in that it is beleiveable that it is only for your own consume and not for resale, the worst thing that will happend is that you loose your beer.

But hey I've been over the border a lot with a "little extra"

camping is or was on a hard rocky surface. not the most comforting id expect.
The area around rudskogen is a quarry.

best beer prices are the co-op in sarpsborg. 10 minutes from the track.

IIRC as you leave the E6 from the north turn right over the E6. you come to a hotel/travellodge on the right. turn here. follow the road and take i think again 2nd right. the co-op is down there near the audi and other garages. Sarpsborg centre is a little further up the hill to the lights turn right. pepes pizza and mcdonalds down there for under a tenner. steak is about 40 per head at least.

                    ok, good info

Seems like the camping ain't the best idea. But don't want to be far from it all aswell.

In one of the Gatebil vids it looks like there is a party at night, if that's correct, is it at the circuit?

And oh, where can I get the tickets?

                      party is at the circuit.

if you need a place to stay and not camping id recommend http://www.hihostels.com/dba/hostel042059.en.htm

i stayed here. join the hi hostel club on arrival. it works out cheaper. the co-op is 5 minutes away and the local audi garage across the road down the street. its 10-15 minutes drive to the track. as you leave sarpsborg gonig past the factory over the bridge about a mile up from here POLICE. speed traps. near what looks like a tuning centre. sure the locals will elaborate on my words.

sarpsborg centre is small. it has about 4 pubs. the neptune being one. there is a premiership football bar too. little restrictive if you are used to a city as we know it. think sarpsborg is the 3rd biggest residential area in norway but still is as small as a local suburb in manchester.

i loved the place. norway is a great country.

tickets - pay on the door. if you are camping its straight to the top of the hill on arrival, through the gates past the bend thats on most films of the track. the camp is 30metres or so from the track.
if you are parking and visiting. park on the drift practice strip. its nice. walk up the hill and pay on the gate. get a weekend no camping pass. it was about 40-50 quid for the weekend.

personally id camp this time if its was summer. just get there early.

Hey, we are a little country but we are not that little

                        Sarpsborg is 13th biggest... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarpsborg
Fredrikstad is a little bigger (40mins drive from Rudskogen), but have a lot more pubs, nightclubs etc

Sorry, it was only meant as an alternative place to stay if youre not going to camp...

yeah ok will have to decide what we'll do. Camp is not that bad, but no shower, toilets etc. will make it a bit of problem really.

This years first event is done.

This video shows quite good the circuss factor of gatebil: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIngbcc1UyU
You can see Alm's driftingstyle is to enter the turn with the rear of the car first. Quite fun to watch
