I honestly don't think there will be, people just don't have it in them and as already outlined its pretty much illegal now, which puts 90% of the 1% that would actually do anything out of the picture.

The S2 is a very expensive luxury to me at the moment. It costs me £182.50/month just to keep it road legal, plus another £200/month now in fuel. That's about £100/week just to drive it for a few hours on weekends, and not including any money spent on actually keeping it running which is easily another £100/month i imagine.. and then you have upgrades on top of that

Still, doesn't cost anything to clean.... yet

It cost me £76 to fill my S2 up last week! I nearly bloody fell over!

As stated above, I just have to "ration" my fun a bit that's all....

128.9 down my way. 12k miles per year at 19mpg. Wouldn't give it up for the world. Used to drive 8-9mpg when prices where at 69.9p for super as a daily. So still better off now than before.

tom - im sure you will find its using more. the comuter uses set calcs fromthe standard injector duty and pump etc. it aint accurate anyway at the best of times

the map may be better but i cant see that improvement. having said that i get 30+ on the motorway on the vems and 630cc so maybe.

its not just the uk now. im in france today, its €1.40 ish here. think they have learned about extortion from our lot.

all this was why i bought the 530d. its 2x as good on juice and will give a stock S2 a run.

That would be quite reasonable if Sterling hadn't collapsed!

It seems that this **** sucking Labour government are determined to turn the UK into an irrelevant entity. But of course if we are all poorer then the rest of the world will be relatively richer and so Labour have a legacy of reducing world poverty...

To answer the original question, won't affect me unless I move back to the sticks and rely on the car for work, in which case I'd keep the S2 and buy an economical run around.

best to test it with a tank and mileage.

gotta say i was surprised on prices here.

pretty sure you southerners being richer and all can afford, i mean are prepared to pay a little more. if not there are 3 tesco within 5 miles here selling 99 ron. rest assured you will pay the difference in insurance between say the home counties and the home of theives and skullduggery

pretty sure mine says 200 all the time. vems has removed the value when it removed the ecu. funny thing is the drop from 40-30-20-E on the dash is seconds.

all i can say is diesel. having sad that power = fuel whatever the type is. i get average 33 from the bmw. a tank lasts roughly twice as long a distance.

id like a 535d though. 282 hp they are. gonna fit a tuning box to mine for hopefully better return and 220hp.

TBH Its quite likely its better on fuel if its been live mapped. Seen it with several cars, obviously thats usually outweighed by the better performace as you then spend more time driving the nuts off it.

Fuel is just ridiculous full stop at the moment, can't say its a good time to own a S2 or anything overly thirsty. The only benefit is that the fuel at Bedford Aerodrome now seems cheap in comparison to when we normally go lol

I have decided to start cycling twice a week from April so I can still have fun in the Cq, Also swapped cars with my wife so I now have the old A4 capable of almost 60mpg as travel the furthest to work.
Refuse to let this rip off government stop me having fun. Wouldn't mind if they were putting all this money to good use but as normal with politicians its been squandered on their expenses and bailing out banks unnecessarily and who then amazingly find 'x' million to pay the fat cat bonuses... And we are soft enough to just sit back and let them do it to us

we moan about fuel but can we do without performance? i dont think i can.
i dont blow 40 quid down the pub everynight...

i had the S2 and a rover 620sdi. it was very slow but very good on juice. after 12 months i wanted a better motor and for that anything would be worse on juice. i saw a regular 50-63mpg on the rover. 40 quid did 2 weeks at least. i went for a 5 series as i need a senior manager class car really and the msport 530d is far better on juice than a 2.5tdi a6. then engine is also better IMO. im happy putting more in the bmw over the rover. its worth the extra.

would you be happy saving loads but going nowhere? you could always sell the spare adrenelin.

330d is good too. not sure it replaced the petrolhead element. mines a tiptronic so very smooth, low work, quiet but enough poke to hold of 16v golfs form the lights and even hang onto the tail of megan 225. i wouldn't fancy their chances over 80 though.

one thing is for sure. the quattro is a lot more sure footed. the bmw traction control light is a regular thing and snow. it just stops. doesn't even try to move. its traction conmtrol off and burn some tyres at that point.
