Fuel prices: Will it affect your ownership of an S2?
My mate has a remapped one, with bigger FMIC, and has played about with a couple of other bits too.
It easily keeps up with my homefried S2, 400lb/ft is a lot of fun
As for snow, that really doesnt bother me, its not as if we have tons here lol
I've always paid fuel prices and will continue to do so, cars are the fun part of my life - i dont piss my money up the wall several times a week. Same as ive always forked out for the thieving insurance companies as well. When you want something it doesnt matter what the cost is if you want it enough.
I really cant bring myself to do the sensible thing - i must say i find it funny that most S2 / RS2 owners seem to also go for Mk2 Golf's as their alternative car as well. Funny in that given everyone is different and all over the place seem to end up with the same 2 cars.
Once things in my life are straight again i will be getting something fun again, altho im considering Mk2 Golf G60, keep it simple but good power and handling

yeah i agree with the general consensus. cars are my fun, my choice and ill deal with it.
I do however think that it might effect some peoples projects..............
1) in may there is a chance to vote this shower of sh*te out
2) get a big truck to push you along the motorway
True...
But do you really think "any" new Government is gonna change things???
Considering that we are up ***** creak and no paddle...
They have to pay the country's debt off some how...
Why not continue to hammer the poor motorist... "if they (us car owners) can invest Thousands in cars a few grand a year in road tax and petrol - it is neither here or there".
Never-mind some of have to have a car to get to work as the public transport round here stinks...
Other question we discussed in the pub last night was "Where does all the Road tax money go" it sure as hell don't go on roads round here....
Some cars pay £450.00 a year in RT, my mate is a HGV driver and his artic is £3K a year, and 4 axle tipper wagons are over £5k a year...
Don't take a genius to work out that BILLIONS go the Treasury... so where does the rest go???
I read yesterday that the DWP & the Social have over paid people by £1.85Bn and of that 30,000 people have been over paid by £10K more than they should have ... but they can only seem to reclaim £250million a year....
That's our fecking Money....
Make my fecking blood boil.... I'm trying to scat a living and those knobs :corey: just throw our money away or scam it in expenses...:corey:
I thought my RS2 was quite cheap to run, you should try an RS4. Does this mean that Jensen Interceptors are going to be cheap soon ? I'll get saving.
Cheers

No change in fuel price will make me stop driving my cars. I refuse to drive something new, economical and boring. I have an ABY converted Coupe Quattro which can manage 25mpg. And a 2.0 16v Mk2 Gti (my daily driver at the moment) which just about manages over 30mpg. At the end of the day i would have to sell both to buy a half decent diesel that isnt slow and boring to drive, which would only end up depreciating.
I know that my Coupe is worth more in parts than i can sell it for, so im not getting rid of it, probably ever. And the Mk2 (being a rare very early 3door) as long as i look after it is only going up in value.
It sucks it costs so much for fuel, it makes me really very angry. But i save money by being able 100% maintain/fix the cars myself and by them not depreciating.
