Total ******** if you ask me as I lost everything, was tpft but you would still think that if your car ends up as mine did you would get something back considering there was nothing salvagable.

Can't believe they wont cover chipped cars though, that is ridiculous !

      Hi

If your car insurance renewal is due in September, please feel free to ring us for a quote on our scheme!

The parameters have changed in that the scheme insurers don't accept bhp increase mods by more than 20bhp or people with more than one conviction or who have had a fault claim in the last 12 months.

That will rule out remaps then...

          Hi
There has been a lot of talk about people being charged for putting winter tyres on their cars.

Can I just say to save any uncertainty we will not charge for anyone doing this though you do have to notify us if you add them?

May I also wish you all a very Happy Christmas and peaceful New Year.

After a strange few months of changing criteria and shifting patterns in the insurance market, January for us, in terms of business, surpassed January 2010 (before all these changes took place) showing that the current scheme seems to be working rather well!

I like to think it’s because I’ve put my photo as my avatar but the rest of the team think that has had a detrimental effect. They may have a point!

So, please feel free to ring us if your car (or home) insurance is due in the next few weeks!

Maybe YOUR mods (!) but we have a mass of customers with modified cars.

I'd say that counts out 99.9% of the membership on here though, i'm afraid.

You need notified if the tyres are changed to a suitable type for the weather conditions?! Bizarre! Winter tyres should be used when the weather is below 8C. Surely those who DON'T do this are the ones that should be charged more!

Is this for 'chipped' cars? So you won't insure an S2 over 280bhp, is that correct?

This whole chipped and not chipped debate is kinda funny.
                            1. How are you going to prove that the car had 60hp or 30hp extra? Even a rolling road is not accurate enough for that.
                            2. How are you going to prove that the car was chipped at all? Owner can just replace chips with stock ones, you'd be none the wiser.
                            3. The remapping limit for a stock car is at about 290hp.

Obviously if a car was recovered after an accident, you could tell if it'd been chipped at all...

...but that doesn't tell you how many extra HP. Even if you examine the map, that doesn't accurately tell you what power the car was producing.

Even if it was dyno'd, there's a huge varience in there and you're working backwards from WHP anyway.
