Oil pick up pipe gasket

On refitting my oil pick up pipe within the sump i installed it with a rubber o-ring gasket, as was previously on and as supplied in the victor reinz kit. However, i noticed later that there was paper gasket also supplied in the kit for the same pipe. My pick up pipe has a machined groove for a o-ring gasket. Can you get pipes with just a flat surface that takes the paper gaskets or are you supposed to use both. Etka shows the o-ring gasket so i decided to order it again just in case i have to take it off and a paper one arrived instead.
What have other installed when building engines back up?.

Paper gasket is for the 7A pickup pipe IIRC

Thanks, that clears it up. I know i didn't take a paper one off so i will just stick with the rubber o-ring.

It's deffo a rubber one, I replaced mine with a rubber one during my engine build
