    Calliper cleaning

Hi, just wanting to know of any good products that bring up the area where the pad sliders are fixed.
You know the bit where all the brake dust builds up and sets like concrete.
I know you can't see that bit but I reckon if I keep that area in good nick I'll be able to remove and service pad sliders (stop corrosion -regrease)
Just had refurb, and want to keep upto them

Just make sure it's one that don't attack the rubbers on the piston seals...

Don't use degreaser, it'll wash out that special grease I use to keep the water out from between the caliper and the plate.
T cut and a tooth brush, then loads of colinate polish!
I just jet wash mine now and then and repolish.

Surely no issues if you are degreasing them to clean out all the crap, and then use fresh grease as and where needed

                  Got the T cut

Don't know how long that grease will last Rob, I'll have a peep every now and again.
Certainly don't want the corrosion kicking in again.

Hi Dest, when Rob did my calipers he banged in a load of heavy duty castrol stuff.
                    Should last a long while.

At a later date when the castrols given up on me then a degreaser could be a good product to use once I've lifted the sliders.
As mentioned not one that would damage seals.

No issues, just alot of work removing calipers and pad plates to re grease. Not normal grease. Its very thick/sticky stuff. Will last ages as mine have now done three years on the front and its still there!
