    Recommend for Saloon

    Hi.
My shocks are dying and feels really wobbly and really shaky. I know most of the S2 in this forum are coupes and avants. Mine is the saloon. Can anyone suggest me a good shocks for the S2 Saloon? I know its the Type 80 body, but would the 80 shocks fit the S2 saloon?

S2 Saloon and Avant share the same suspension. A ncie OE option would be some OE RS2 shocks, people use them as an upgrade on the Avant. Next level up is a set of Koni shocks, then the Bilstein are traditionally regarded as the hardest shocks. Depends on what you use the car for and what springs you have fitted.

      Thanks Andy.
I was thinking of retaining the springs, and just replace with a new shocks.
Do you know the part numbers for the shocks front and rear; Bilstein / H&R / KW / Weitec / Eibach?
Just thinking of which is value for $$$$...

        Bilstein http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44007

But I think the rears have to be modified to have the car at correct height. I have been looking for shocks for H+R avant but there seems to be a problem with either the fronts or the rears depending on manufacturer you go with. After days of searching I am still none the wiser.

oh no. will this be a hard time to just get it off the shelf?
anything that can just plug in easily without any modifications would be great.. Dunno if I should go for the OEM, but they prolly last less KM than the aftermarkets...

Again with koni using the numbers for avant/ sedan
              8610-1262Sport front
              8210-1160Sport rear

But I cannot find any reference to these numbers on the forum.

*Edit: These are the incorrect numbers for fronts.

                    Thanks so in Koni
it looks like for the 80 Competition
                    Fronts: 86-2066SPORT
                    Rears: 8210-1160SPORT

                    and for RS2/S2 Avant/Sedan
                    Fronts: 86-2086SPD2
                    Rears: 8210-1160SPORT

                    and for S2 Coupe

                    Fronts: 86-2086SPD2
                    Rears: 86-2433SPORT

So S2 front shock inserts for coupe and avant are the same?

80 competition is the same for all b4 quattro limo+avant except for s2 and rs2 of course.

                      so this 80 competition is good for all b4 quattros with 2.0E, 2.0 16v, 2.3 10v, 2.6, 2.8 engines.
