Camping Meet 2010 - recommendations needed

I've been trawling the web this morning trying to find a suitable campsite for our camping meet this year.

After the small turnout in the lakes this years meet will be somewhere in the midlands (but NOT Billing Aquadrome), possibly stretching to the Malverns in the south west or The Peak District in the north. It will be either the first or second weekend of July.

Any recommendations for group friendly campsites in the Midlands? Has anyone been to any other car club camping meets and can recommend a camp ground? I have a few favourites but you never know what a place is really like from photos.

    Ta,
    Carly

    hi carly.

there are a few but one that springs to mind is the unicorn inn.

its group friendly. i hear it can get a little roudy at times but nothing too serious.

and theres a pub. and more pubs over the river.

The Friday night lot only just managed to avoid a fight with some chavs...

The place is bloody full of them.

Whatabout where they hosted Audi's in the park last year, Wickstead Park Kettering? Although I did not go, it looked good on paper.

Dest, what did you think of it?

            Cheers,

            Steve.

billing is like blackpool, scarborough, southport, brighton, skeggy

its where the scroats can get a bus to.

always been the same. used to go to JAE there. camp under the trees in the middle of puddle duck or whatever and not venture across the lakes to the pikey hangout.

cars and quiet tend not to be seen by the site owners as going hand in hand.

4x4 club frequently use a feild behind the Aquadrome, nice and quiet and never had any issues in the 4 years they've been running it, well. other than someone chasing the Landrovers round the offroad course in a 90Q one year :mischeif: Its actually far enough from the Aquardome by road that no one bothers with it.

1st weekend in July is the Goodwood FOS, which would rule out a lot of people I suspect.

Yeah, except that they quite obviously couldn't organise their way out of an open paper bag since they don't actually mention on their web5h!te when the blummin' show is

I searched EVERY page and unless I have suddenly changed my name to Mr Magoo, the date is only listed on the Links page! - That's the page where they are supposed to link to other stuff, not the only page where they should mention the show date - Sheesh!

Also, it is nearer to the west country than I typically like to venture - after all, that's Orificer Casey territory that is
