Rear Differential

Help --- Does anyone know anyone who has seen someone who thinks they may have a S2 rear differential ????????

Yep in the process of doing that, also found one at a breakers, would you happen to know if the S2 coupe and S2 Avant run the same rear Diff ????

coupes same as 90Q and other coupe quattros

Agree here

Definately can't use a avant rear diff.

A s2 3b/aby diff's fine as is a 7a rear diff but with the 7a rear diff you have to change the output flanges over from your old diff.

there are lots of different ratios an verson of diffs, even the same car, the same year, they may bee different..

the rear diff does have a diffCODE stamped in by the oildrain plugg, on the housing; like this; AEC or AEU...
if you post the old code and the "new"/ other one... then i will see if it will fit... i dont think you will fitt a rear diff with 4,56 into a car with ratio in the front 4,111 or 3,889...
the "seller" claim this diff are from a audi "sport q".... but are from a audi 80 4pot....

10v/v6 one's have different ratios

All 10v diffs I've seen where 4.11 as the S2. My V6 avant is also 4.11 and I guess V6 CQ's are 4.11 to, but not 100% sure. Most B3/B4 with torsen is 4.11. 2.0 8V can be 4.56.
