black number plates with silver writing

i have seen some cars with black number plates and silver writing can anyone tell me if this is legal or will i get nicked thanks

Pre Jan 1973 only.

Used to have a Mach1 Mustang that was 2nd of Jan 1973 and that wasn't allowed Black and Silver plates as it was 2 days over the age limit. However as the car was so old I took my chances and ran them anyway.

Do it on a more modern car and expect to get a tug.

Just see the pressed plates threads and get a set of UK pressed plates, they look great and are 100% legal
