Any Irish members got a 27mm 3/4" socket i can borrow?

I'm trying to change the timing belt and i'm not having any luck with it. I have a 27mm 1/2" socket and breaker bar that wouldnt shift it, stuck a pipe on the end and all it did was flex the breaker bar.

Decided more brute force and ignorance was needed so i took out the big daddy torque wrench and kept winding it up until i got to 550lb/ft and broke the 3/4" adapter

So if anybody has a 27mm 3/4" socket, or a big *** 1/2" breaker bar can i borrow it please?

    Thanks,

    Mark.

I have 3/4" 27mm and driver bar you can borrow, if you are near cork some time. Although I used 1" -3/4" air impact to remove mine. (but not to tighten)

I have a 1m long 1/2" drive bar that has never let me down, you're welcome to try break it. I'm in Dublin tomorrow (airport / rathmines / tallaght / cornelscourt). I'll also give you a brazing torch to get a bit of heat in there, it's probably locktited on so IMO you either need heat or impact.
I'll throw in a piece of my favourite scaffolding for extra leverage.

I could give you a hand tomorrow afternoon or just drop stuff off to you somewhere.

Go easy with the heat - crank seals, harmonic damper/bonding/rubber etc.

            I have one,

call over tomorrow when it suits you. I have a 1/2 inch breaker bar as well as a matching deep impact 27mm socket.

And 5 feet of torque wrench...size matters. When I did this I was lucky enough to be able to use a main VAG dealers torque wrench during the weekend...a seriously huge wrench. Even with this Pro piece of equipment it was still difficult to "crack" the bolt. Forget 1/2inch breaker bars please.

Thanks for the help everyone but i think i have it sorted now, called into my local motor factors and ordered a Teng Tools 3/4" socket, proper hardened jobbie with six sides. Best bit is they will have it in stock by 6pm today, never thought it would be that easy to source

Sorted, nothing like having the right tools for the job. Came off in seconds and went back on with no effort at all. 450nm is nothing with a 5 foot torque wrench

It's great when you can fly through a task with the right tools.
