    911 encounter

I seem to run into fun cars only when I'm out in one of the slower ones, but yesterday I finally encountered a 911 on a freeway on-ramp. Nice red 993 C2 with a medium sized wing. "C2 911" vanity plates.
Being thoroughly smoked by a station wagon (although Porsche built) probably put a small dent in the 911 drivers otherwise fine Sunday. Especially a wagon filled with bikes & gear (and some heavy car parts)

Just waiting for some kind of Ferrari to strut its stuff. That will be fun too. Perhaps even more fun. Lots of sporty cars out these days. Large number of bikes too.

i had a cracking porsche encounter, but with my old big power cosworth (SORRY LADS!)

driving down the coast road past silverlink on a bank holiday monday, JCT600 porsche dealers is very close by, and im in the outside lane doing like 50mph, and coming off the sliproad onto coast road is a brank spanking (on trade plates) 911 turbo, i see the salesman pointing at a few things and mumbling **** to the punter, and punter noding and smiling, then they look over and salesman waves, well imagine him saying yeh just undertake this old sierra........

well i saw this and gave it 3rd gear, 5000rpm and dropped the clutch, needless to say i fuc ked off with a huge cloud of tyresmoke, 2 massive black lines and 2 cun ts in a brand new 911 STARING open mouthed at my old cossie lol

someone on passionford.com did me a picture, Armani sunglasses £260, Ralph Lauren Suit, £1800, brand new 911 turbo £130,000 geting absolutley raped by a 500bhp £20,000 old sierra....... PRICELESS!!!!

sorry cant find the pic but im sure you can picture it lol

I do love giant killing stories - they are better in Avant form cos it just seems so wrong for an estate car to be *that* fast - I'm referring to espens rocket fuelled beast in particular.

Love it!. I used to tow a boat quite a lot with my S2 coupe and my favourite hobby was very quickly leaving boy racers stranded and embarrassed on the wrong side attempting to overtake. Only problem was corners and putting the boat sideways

Remember trying to smoke a Celica Twin Turbo on the TL (Suzuki TL1000R V twin, not so much a superbike as an 'OMG im gonna DIE!' bike)

Having struggled to keep the front of t he bike down with the copious amounts of power I was pumping into the back wheel, look round and this Celeica was still there! Nothing save a few other bikes had ever kept up with me and here was a ton of old Jap import. I'd love to know what he'd done to it.

Must admit having to eat humble pie on one occasion. drove past a crappy bazzed up Vauxhall Nova one day who followed me on to the A22. Planted my right foot as I turned onto the dual carriageway to show him a lesson and at about 100mph looked in the mirror to see him still up my chuff, I pull across and he completely smokes me. Most degrading. but not as degrading as being seen driving a Nova I guess, albeit a very fast one.

It was red, but it was also about 10 years ago!! so can't remember any other details. I assumed it had 3L Calibre block dumped in it. Wasn't you was it?!

                            That would kinda make sense.

I suspect you met my Ex boss, and trying to Race that Nova was a no win if it was. He handed over £25k to some place up north and basically said 'do your best'.

The same guys purchases last year included an Enzo, Conmtinental GT and an R8. Never sells a car either. The red Nova was his first car and its still kicking about. Think I have a pic someplace.

The 100-200km/h times will reveal much of a particulars vehicle's potential in a freeway roll on shootout.
R bikes are very quick from 100-200km/h, for the Suzuki GSXR family, the numbers I have for 100-200km/h times are 5.1, 5,5 and 6.7 for the 100, 750 and 600cc respectively. Stock S2 was tested at approx 25s back in the day. Stock RS2 in 17.6s, R8 V8 and B7 RS4 around 12s. R8V10 was tested by Sport Auto in 8.9s. Just looking at test statistics, it would appear to take monster power in a car to beat an R bike from a 60mph roll, but it takes an experienced bike rider to pull off such times, in addition to being in the right gear. My alky sipping smurf wagon pulls the 100-200 in 7.6s using 4th gear only (faster than shifting 3/4), so it would be nice to do a pull against a proper bike. Held off a sport bike once, but unsure of what kind, in addition to running far less power/torque than now on proper fuel.

These sites are awesome for performance stats:
