Great project Pete! It's really looking up. How much time past during the work you've shown? Keep up the great work!

Funny... I saw a nice zermatt silver UR in Belfast last week. Looked rather nice I must say - always good to see one in something other than red, white or black. Nice project BTW. Good luck with it !

Bet they are rare over there.

I must admit I firstly went for a red one but this one came up so went for it. Its the little bits that are taking the time to sort, quattronutters being a big help with this, he helped me swap all the running gear over which took us around 3-4 hours to do on his ramp.

One point to note for anyone thinking of doing this, we found out that the urq track rod ends don't go thru the holes for the s2 struts so will need s2 track rod ends

Wow, what a work your putting in to it. I will follow this thread from now onwards.

May I ask you what kind of money has gone into this project incl. the purchase?

                          Thankyou

                          Costs so far:

                          buying the car - £1k
Transporting it to my place then up to aidens - £185
Painting and other work - you'd need to speak to quattronutter about this
                          s2 running gear - £100 for struts/wishbones
                          S2 hubs - £175
                          Rs2 recaro's - nothing I had these spare
                          Rear lights - £5
                          rear bumper - £20
fuel lines and brake lines - £40
                          bonnet - £60
                          new black carpet - £60
donor coupe gt in zermatt silver for spares - £125 I think maybe less
                          Engine/loom/etc - £550
                          dsy box - £200
7a head - I swapped some stuff for this
various other bits that I have spare for the car that I can't think of atm.

parts I sold off the car to recoup some funds

interior I swapped for black leather then got rid of the front seats
                          fuesch (spl) alloys - £250 I think
                          engine - £250 I think

so the car set me back around £4-500 maybe less as a few other bits I sold off that I would not be needing.

I've taken quite a bit of stuff up to a mate for blasting as he said he can do that for me and seam welding some of the parts, it will then be primed and por15'd (and if I can zinc base coated)

brakes i'm still undecided on, rears will be the s2forum/s2central upgrade ala s2 fronts i'm not sure of, I was going to go monoblocks/etc but i've got rid of them since.

That sounds not too bad Pete, now even with a fresh paint on it. I might have missed the posts where the engine was discussed, but will it be a OE 20v, or a more powerful setup (450HP?)? With Digidash, or a nice analog dash?

I am envious....... that car of yours!

I've already got choice of two 20vt engines to go into it so it will have one of them and will have more power. My car never came with a digi dash as its an early model so it will have a dash setup like djones's car on the forum.
