They did kill a quattro, just not that quattro.
Mind you, it was apparently already dead after doing a stunt jump for a previous episode.

Steve (4441 UR in the above picture) was on BBC radio 5 live 08.30 this morning talking about the UR, ashes to ashes etc etc.

Oh Merde. It *was* a quattro!!! But all is NOT lost.
Great series. Even from Canada, I have watched LOM and A2A all the way through to the end (got AS2 S03E08 this AM). While watching Series 3 (the "fire up the quattro" series) I was absolutely convinced it was a tarted up coupe, not a quattro. Too many handbrake turns I thought impossible with a quattro. I was just going to prove my point with a photo of S03E06 when Gene Genie does a burn out on the way to the prison (after talking to Thordy/Sam). Up unitl then I was convinced that it was a fwd coupe. Then I paused it a 48:59 and caught this photo. (below)
OH MERDE. It *was* a quattro
(smoke coming off the rear wheels while the fronts are also spinning). 
Just rewatched the S03E08 shoot out at the airport. The car they show up in is the same car as in the burn out. However the "dead" "quattro" is a different car, the wheels are different. 
(I watched the squibs go off in a frame by frame advance. The second car definitely gets most of its glass broke. No way to know whether the second car was a quattro or not (hopefully not).
