    Retro-fitting heated recaros

I've got OEM fitted recaro's. Is it possible to fit heated elements to them? I know you can get heated leather seats, but can fit those elements to the recaro's?

Yes its the same as what alex/error did with his seats, its not too hard just time consuming.

Should have just got heated recaro's in the first place mine's going in the urq.

      Nice, is there a thread?

I'm assuming you just buy a set of heated and rip out the elements?

Yeah thats the general idea, I think alex put pictures in his cars build thread. He's the best person to speak to about it.

You may be able to buy the elements new but probably too expensive.

i've done two sets of S2 seats and a set of urS4 seats now, basically yeah you can either spend big bucks on some new elements (if they are still available) or you can reclaim them from some old seats

I bought heated elements from Recaro a few years ago.

They weren't that keen to sell the elements to me.

I seem to remember they were about £140 for the back and seat cushion element.

They run in series. I'd get the correct ones from recaro.

This wiring diagram is what I used when I fitted my seats and made a loom to run them.

The RS2 recaro elements are available they have a different part number AFAIK to the other ones as it's listed as 3 separate elements for the seats. Two in the back one in the base

It's more than that, for the RS2 recaros you need 2 backrest elements according to the bible.

                      Qty
                      Backrest Element 8A0 963 557 A 2
                      Seat Element 8A0 963 555 1

Wonder if P.Diddy can confirm price?

If he's reading this, that would be handy, cheers.

What were the recaro part numbers you bought?
