Don't say anything to them as in the small print on most insurance certificates it says not covered on the ring. Me and my brother looked into insurance for been on the ring but the excess was about £6000 so we said balls to it and live on the edge....... Plus we don't have a credit card between us! Ha ha we was lucky or just we are Gods behind the wheel I know what i'd go with, lol.
Just some finishing touches to do now

You are not comprehensively insured on the 'ring unless your insurance company has told you so... which they almost certainly won't if you ask.

You are insured 3rd party if you have European cover, even if the insurance company tell you that you are not or say you are not in your insurance policy.

If this is the case though, the chances are in the even of a 3rd party claim, they would pay the 3rd party, then come after you for the funds.

Basically it's a complete minefield and very confusing. Tou cannot get dedicated 3rd party ring insurance and most places will tell you to ****** off at the mere mention of the place.

        So drive accordingly!

Although the S6 being a bit of a barge for the track, its been an ambition of mine to make a trip to the ring, once i quit spending a fortune racing bikes!

In your experience is it as lethal as some (probrbly negative) people have told me with full on race cars dodging you for being in the way etc?

I wouldn't worry about the S6 being a barge. I took my V8 this year and even though it acted as mobile chicane for nearly every other car on track it was fine. So much so that my better half even took to the wheel in it. As long as you stay right when something is coming to overtake it is fine. At certain times it get very busy so you can spend most of your lap with the indicator on hugging the right hand curbs but other times you can get a clean lap with no other traffic.

I see the common thread in the replies, and I will see if I can get a defibrulator off the bay before I go. I am looking forward to my first time over there nonetheless, should have the car up to 400 horse after this upgrade is done.

i crashed my freinds evo 7 at the ring 3 years ago. never told insurance before we went, car was a right-off and insurance company payed out for the car. had to pay ring costs of 1800 euro for damage to the track though. was very lucky. most insurance companys say in the small print that you are not insured on one way toll roads in europe, the ring is the only one way toll road in europe. haven't been back since, but just got my 20v 3b urquattro conversion up and running so will be going back as soon as possible. the ring is one crazy place.
