Peugeot returned to type this year! Fast but fragile ...Audi worked very hard to achieve the result this time, I'm just a tad disappointed for Lola A-M but that's racing! I'll send a bit of a shout-out to my old college mate Rick Westbrook for making it onto the GT2 podium.

It was a day for silver cars on both sides of the Atlantic...

Was anyone else suprised by the pace of the race while the No.1 Peugeot and the Oreca Peugeot's where still in the race? faster than qualifing and way faster than the Audi's. Peugeot has work to do but not as much as Audi tbh.

Remember Peugeout won on merit last year, so I agree - this was more about Audi doing the tortoise routine - but Peugeot did tone down their pace, it's been suggested that they knew they had issues.

I heard that one of the Peugeots had a chassis failure, wishbone inserts pulled out (which suggests to me that the inserts are a bit small and don't spread the load into the skins very well - I've seen this personally on a former GpC car I worked on way back) ...might require some new chassis made and run in a race this year for homologation, but that's not difficult.

The other issue of pushing hard and overheating to the point of blowing up after stopping can be managed ...but it also shows how hard they were pushing development to stay ahead of the game, I think.

Audi's victory was definitely not a show of force, but it was a show of better organisation, born of experience.

IMHO at the end of the day its an endurance race, speed counts for 5h1t if you can't last the distance. Can't be forgotten that Audi have 10 years + experience at this though and I'm sure the R15 could yield more pace - but would it be reliable? Peugeot will are getting wiser I think
