Fluctuating oil pressure

recently I have noticed my oil pressure is up and down like a yo-yo....at one point it is down to 1 bar and then when i stop again it is back to the expected 2 bar....

is my oil pump on it's way out??.....
my bottom end about to "let go"...
the pressure switch sticking??.....

something isn't right.....

any help/advice is very gratefully received...

i had this on a corrado. it would go lazy. evenually it fails.

new pump time.....or just a guage sender.

suspicion says it is a sender...as i cna be sat in traffic and it reads 2 bar then for no apparent reason drops to 1....and goes to pull away and it climbs, as expected, back to 5 bar....something not right

Don't guess. Any reputable garage sould have a screw-in mechanical Bourdon gauge.

It's not worth the risk. I did this only yesterday to a WR ur-quattro in Holmfirth.
