Hey guys should an s2 avant homefried and with cat bypass be able to beat an 04 reg s4? Was neck and neck from stand still till the road narrowed to one lane after some traffic lights and i bottled it in fear of my car.

Not tried in the S2, but I got my **** handed to me on a plate by a newer S4 when I had my standard B5 S4! -
Previously on the same journey a merc v8 amg did exactly that to me funnily enough!

expect a close tussle.
cars around the 300 hp need another 60-80 to really be much faster. its as much about bottle/stupidity and who gets foot down first as to whats faster at that point.
expect the S4 owner to feel a little miffed he couldn't dust you. a loss is not always a loss. moral victory.Comment

S2 has lots of useable torque whereas the V8 needs more revs, flat out it'll be faster but in the mid range it'll struggle a bit, I know a tuned k03 S4 is faster than a V8 one for sure thanks to 380+ftlbs

No it was a red saloon. Also if you ever come up against a noggy blue ( forget which) s or rs4 avant round Hemel don't try it. It is seriously quick with over 650bhpComment

Had a run in with an old Avant S4 last year. Had it beat convincingly upto about 100, but as I value my license I backed off.
But then my series 2 Cq is a lot lighter than the S2
Only car thats pulled away at any pace is an EVO 8 with a few mods I reckon...

No turbo (Im not a fan of NA now!), V8, auto box, and 99% of them are silver!
A standard S4 is not that quick, but a remapped or k04'd one is a different matter
