    new trick on the drive......

    Hey guys,

New s2 on the drive as of today. Going to use it to sort the issues on mine.

    Spec as follows.

    Full head rebuild,
Koni all round on new standard springs,
    Two new radiators
    New oil cooler,

    Believed to be home fried.
    Gutted cats
    New coil pack amps.
    Cleaned injectors
    Boost gauge
    New alternater
    New psp
    New pipes for psp

Lots of other bits done too.

    Bad points,

Only boosting to 7psi (mechanical boost I believe)
Codes throws 00561 - mixture something or other.

Also got an obd reader with it, new cats, plenty of spares too.

Once all sorted with mine I will fill a big for sale page.

Also any thoughts on getting the water temp sign on the computer after 30 mins of driving,
Water level correct doesn't feel like overheating and temp gauge normal.

    Cheers

I would have a look at the mfts, I had boost issues and funky temp guage/warning issues, the plug that went on the the mfts was corroded up. Replaced plug and mfts and full boost.

Gutted the3 engine bay yesterday _day 1 in the 2 avant house - One engine out - few surprises found -

All coil packs new - Wired up a bit dodgy to the connnector using the silly little blue things that the name of eludes me - Removed will be used and wired up properly.

New Bomb - pipes all new too - they coming with me too.

All looks good and clean - downpipe will be shifted to cover for my squashed one.

Tons of mud from where the previous owner has been greenlaning me thinks.

Bad news - caught one of the plugs when removing the engine - the one that connects to the closer to the block on the bell housing bit - Position sensor me thinks. The closer one anyway - caught the plug which in turn ripped the cable out of the bleeding sensor. Ah well -

No cuts or bruises to speak of - all seems to be going well-

Todays plan - Engine out of mine and all the bits stripped and exchanged with an engine back in it by 5pm -

Doing this all on my todd by the way with a little help from my man Carl who is at the same time removing the engine and gearbox from his RS6 to replace the broken gearbox (had been MRC'd and the gearbox gave out on a "spirited drive")

        All good fun -

        Cheers

        Aaron

P.S. Anyone got one of those sensors lying around??

        Cheers Again

It was the old unit that needs to go back for exchange. The boss was using the forklift to move it out of the van into the warehouse and it rolled off the forks. I can probably blag it still as I'm going to claim the torque convertor exploded and that is what the bell housing to shatter. They might go for it.

Nice, that is a little worse than the lovely chunk that snapped off my bellhousing
