sorry for the poor quality and I can assure you unlike last april this ain't no joke (hmmm can't find the thread I put up last time)

I picked the car up with a mate on sat night and moved it to a different storage location, finally got let out of work/hell early tonight so thought i'd have a go at getting it up and running.

After spending some time tidying up some of the engine bay and enlarging a couple of the holes on the water manifold for the new larger allen head bolts I fitted up this and the inlet manifold and then spent ages looking for a bolt for the fuel rail and once this was found slapped a battery on and gave it a go, after a couple of seconds of cranking to get fuel up to the injectors it kicked in and fired up, it was a bit lumpy but that was due to the intercooler not being fitted.

After idling for a few seconds the idle dropped and it cut out, then promptly dropped oil from the connection for the oil cooler as the big nut that bolts one of the pipes onto the oil filter housing was loose. After tightening this up and checking the level I gave it another go and it started up and ticked over fine

Now just need to do general tidying up of the bay, fit the intercooler and rad (i'd left it off for access if need be) total time to get running - around 1-2 hrs (I was looking for some parts for it)

Congratulations, glad it went ok with the correct know how/parts.

Are you going to go over everything you have not touched making sure it is correct/tight?

What is the plan for this one then?

Yeah got to get it out and get the new interior in (the old one unfortuantely is too far gone to save but got one coming for it) Going to tidy it up, paint works good on it so might just stick s8's on it as i've some laying around.

It will be tidied up and put back to how it should be

must say one thing tho, gary's well prepared, all the gasgets etc was with the car. I was surprised at how easily it started up with only minimal cranking to bring fuel up to the rail.

Got to fit the intercooler to the s2_bo crossmember, check around the engine bay for anything that might be loose etc then fit the interior and everything else thats needed.

s8's do suit the cars well, still not sure if they will end up on this or what as the wheels that are on it are in mint condition.

Did you hear about the set you was after?

I'll see what ends up on this, either them, whats on it now, or a8 sports in white.
