    AA or RAC

I've just got the annual renewal notice through - £264 for family membership, home start, and relay.

Go on the AA website, and the same cover is £191 (brand new customers only?)

The RAC price for the same cover is £163.

Other than the AA claiming they have more recovery vehicles on the road than 'any other breakdown service', which presumably means they also have more members... are there any real differences in service or cover?

The only thing I can see is a tiny advantage with the AA in terms of 'fair callout policy'. Family membership with AA is up to 4, but up to 5 with RAC.

    Experiences/views please?

have used green flag on my pug and ended up having to call them out last winter when the car was stuck in Southampton Airport late at night and wouldn't start...arrived in 25 mins and car was running 45 mins later. I guess its all about experiences at the end of the day.

On the S2 i ave had it covered by Europe Assistance for the last 6 or so years...£59 per year including european cover. never so far had the ned to call on it but...

I started the other thread... read on but the headline is HAGGLE

AA (after 20 yrs membership) quoted £147 for me & wife with home start and relay
              Green Flag about £160
              RAC introductory offer £107

I called the AA and they said "fair enough, we'll offer you same thing for £103.50"

              Excellent.
              SOLD !
