    Audi Coupe

Ive been told by a mate that there is an Audi Coupe for sale and where to go and have a look at it. The owner was at work so he couldnt show me round the car. What i was told is its a 1989 coupe 2.2 turbo quattro. From having a look on the internet i cant seem to find any information about a 2.2 turbo coupe from this year. The only 2.2 quattro i can find of this bodystyle is the s2. After looking at the car (only the outside) it just says quattro on the back. Did they ever make a 2.2 turbo or is it just the normal 2.2?

Only the S2 was a turbo, there are quite a few cars out there with that on the log book which are standard quattros where DVLA have messed up or the owners have put it in to be changed

That'll probably be an Audi Coupe quattro. A type 89 bodystyle so similar to the S2, only it'll probably be the 10V, non-turbo, 2.2 five cylinder engine.
So no S2, but still a nice car in it's own right, especially if it's in good nick.

loads of coupe logbooks have turbo writting on them even though they are definately non turbo. think someone got confused with the injector cooler attached to the motor when registering them. a pic of the engine would be easiest way to find out but obviously hard to get if you cant get in lol

Thanks for the replies. Car was in reasonably good condition. Its a darkish grey with a leather interior which i do like. What sort of power are these?

Having a look on wikipedia (for non turbo this time) it turns out the car is a 2.3 20v. It has the leather interior with wood, the 5 star Speedlines, VDO gauges and the Difflock button from what i could see. Im going to speak to the owner and have a proper look/test drive tomorow.

10v is 136bhp and 20v is 170bhp, 20v better car as has bigger brakes and forged wishbones and proper injection

                is this in USA?

there were only ~ 1700 sent here in 1990 and 1991. they were all 20v NA.... AFAIK.

i have 2, just got a 3rd, and have seen 3 crushed in the last 1.5 yrs... so they are rare and getting more-so as the years go on....

No its in uk. Turns out the car is a 10v. Are these still any good? I had an 8v 80 avant a few months ago and found it was just too slow. It will mainly be used for town work as my other cars arent practical enough.
