Forgot to ask , anyone have Classic insurance on their S2 ?
I was on a modern classic policy a while back, limited miles and about £350. Just renewed this year, 6k miles, all mods declared and was £306 which was up on last year unfortuntely by about £20.

Sky Insurance and Chris Knott are forum sponsors, I am with Sky now on both my cars. Have a search on here...
I used to be with Greenlight and have been with Flux / HIC in the past too.
All seem to genuinely understand specialist cars and what we, as owners, are trying to do with the more classic and rare model. They will offer you the best policy for your situation and some offer agreed value and other such specialised services, at a cost of course They are also modification friendly, again, at a cost - £90 for a chip on my BM was rather steep IMO but the S2 has a list of mods all for reasonable money so the more the merrier perhaps.
It's worth phoning around and seeing what they can do for you for sure

I used to be with HIC, but they have been taken over by AF now so I am with them.
AF seem to be the only company that offer 'agreed value' policies, so depends what you are after.
Quite a few seem to have got good quotes from Elephant, but no personal experience there.
HTH.
Cheers
Chris
HIC have always been owned by AF they split them so they could offer different policies to various groups, it's like Elephant who are owned by Admiral.
AF are one of the only to do agreed value, shame they are such w**kers, but that was only with my personal experience and their refusal to give the same policies to Birmingham postcodes
I'm with elephant, not bad considering they are a mainstream insurer - even with mods, but specialists will be cheaper. Only reason I'm with them is I bought my S2 part way through the year, will probably look at specialist policies once renewal time comes around.
I was with elephant for 2-3 years on my S2 reason I left is there were some high profile forum cases regarding their valuations. I'm pretty sure they cat d a car with a broken headlight!

Right, may swap sooner rather than later in that case!
Elephant are all well and good until you claim, then look out. Took me 9 mths to get 2300 for my S2, they kept saying they are worth £800 etc etc and even though I had NC Protection my renewal went from 290 to 600. Good for cover, not for claiming. Do a google search! Another cheap insurer is Swiftcover but please dont touch them with a barge pole.... Again do a google search for more info

i have just renewed my insurance a couple of weeks ago thought i would give ski insurance a try was very inpresed with the guy on the end of the phone, it was the first time the person i was talking to new what an s2 was and even new what brakes i was using when i said i hade porsche brakes his reply was is that the boxster s calipers .i got the feeling he was or had been an s2 driver himself. any way £528 fully comp protected no claims all mods declaired beet adrian flux and performance direct by quite a bit. still a bit high but i am still not out of the have you had any claims in the last 5 years period. the only thing they say they sive a discount to club/forum members i'm now paranoid that they use this to spy on you and to see if you haven't told them eveything, i've now had to check my user cp to make sure there isn't any old info about my car that would make it look like i have ********ted them
never set your expectations to high that way you are never disapointed
I'm with Footman James (used to be AON ?) , been with them for 11 yrs now, just had my renewal for 90Q with AAN etc and agreed value, £270...Phil Tuffnel...'appy days..
