well test fitted the 3'' port yesterday and difference is minimal. I guess you won't get any noise from it untill you chop the whole front of the airbox
A friend has a cone filter on his V6 30V and it sounds lovely but killed his MAF almost immediately.
6" OD Airbox velocity stack inlet with 4" ID installed in OEM 2.8/12V airbox. 4" OD X 3" ID velocity stack airbox outlet to smooth and increase volume/velocity of air colum across MAF sensor wires.
Additionally the intake tract is 3" ID from airbox to bored/CNC'd MAF housing-to-high-flow recovery sleeve with valve cover blowby inlets and RSXTB throttle body. Entire system bench-flowed and capable almost 1,000 CFM even tho the engine simply cannot pull that much air. But certainly negates ANY/ALL potential negative boost areas from airbox inlet-to-intake manifold which is also ported, gasket-matched and EVERY intake runner and combustion chamber CC'd to within 1 or 2 drops of water.
oh and one thing a vaccuum hose popped off while working on the airbox. I didn't have time to figure out where it belongs, the exhaust fumes do smell like unburned fuel now.
I won't get mad with a 20 mm. drill that's not my cup of tea. I'll order a nice 3'' bass port and install it neat. Will also modify the trim behind the headlight to fit the bigger inlet.
Ow and need someone from the UK that can help me out shipping 2 lambda probes over for my cabriolet. The ebay seller won't ship overseas.
Did you ever get somebody to ship the lambda probes or are you still looking?
