    Turbo Identification???

Can anyone identify this turbo, the only markings on the Cold side are "M14 A/R.70"

There is some very tiny casting marks which read "ZW0639"

But other than that I am struggling to find it's make and model any ideas??????

Haha.. i'm having a Chinese Holset turbo rebalanced @ work soon. I am really curious to see what it shows. If it is acceptable i'll rebuild it with Holset journal bearings to see how it'll cope. Next thing i can see go wrong after that is melting the turbine & housing.

But there are guys running GT42 clones called 'GT45y2004k' making 9's on the strip... twin setup, low boost, lumpy V8.

There are multiple topics about China turbo's. Some even perform not that bad at all.
            Nice read: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/turb...testing-7.html
Too bad they messed it up by placing an BB inlet restrictor... who knows what it did without...

As for TS, it looks like a XS power clone. I know a guys that runs one with 25PSI for 10.000 miles w/o problems. Perhaps that is one of the better ones.. I'd never use one of those without replaced bearings & rebalancing.

Compressor housing is same size as a GT35R however geniune garret would be stamped as such, probably a chinese take away mate!

you can tell by the cast and materials its a fu yung.

there are those who have had good times with these. then there are a whole host of guys with motor full of alloy bits.
