What is it with Facebook friend requests at the moment??

I keep on getting friend requests from complete strangers saying "Please add me"

I'm kinda thinking that there's some dodgy Facebook virus thing going round

Well I've had about 6 requests so far in the last couple of weeks, one from some guy I don't know, another from a girl who was a right old munter, but the rest were pretty fit women

Yeah there is quite a bit of this now phishing for details since once they are a friend they can normally view family details and DOB etc

It's the people who you vaguely recognise, who you've never spoken to but apparently went to school with that piss me off!

Putting your security levels high is always a good idea, but not too high as people who you do know will never find you!

my view is friends are friends.

theres no way you can have 1,236 friends. not happening. they may be people you have met in the past but they aint friends.

fook um off. they just clog up the info highway with cluttermail. all they want is access tothe next app level with clutter count.

you also get random "people" trying to make as many new friends as possible before they suddenly post commercial advertising on your wall.
On the occasions I do use facebook I feel dirty afterwards, like i've let myself down. It's proving to be a huge mart of merketing for businesses though so hard to avoid.
