Hi, anyone tried out these apps got the iPhone. They suppose to use the iPhones g sensors and work as accelerometer and even calculate hp.

Yes i have Dynolicious, bought it when it first came out for £1
Its a good app, very accurate. But you need to know the exact weight of your car which i dont so i dont actually know if the HP figures are correct.91 S2 coupé - RIP

They do use the same basic technology but the g-sensors in the G-tech will be supeiror to the i-phone ones.
Also your cars weight input will be critical to get the BHP as accurate as possible but again with the G sensors being used this will be a rough guestimate with the i-phone.
I'm not knocking it but just being realistic.Comment

Although I work for Racelogic and may be biased on many issues but in this instance I can catagoricaly say that you could safely put ANY Racelogic GPS/Gyro based datalogging product at the top of the accuracy list whan placed with these other suppliers.
The G-tech will do what you want better than the i-phone becaue that is what it was deigned to do, but the VBOX products are another leap forward.

It's just for fun these 7 euro apps. For me the numbers compared on my runs seem to be sound to say they are accurate enough for me. The actual HP number is anyway very hard to measure on dyno's, left aside these iPhone apps, since everyone uses a different one, has different tires, different environmental situations, etc, etc. I stopped looking for what is the exact HP number on my car .......
It just needs to be mental
