My luck on my motors is not good at the moment!! Another problem with my s2 been to the lakes today and that was a vibration and stuttering problem and a bit of a lack of power. What i think it is that it could be the coil pack but that got replaced about 18 months ago. Any suggestions? it doesnt happen all the time and theres no regular pattern to it?

Hmmm... now I am not clear as to what you mean by "coil pack". I use the term "coil pack" in association with "1.8t" as in 1.8t coil pack, the four wire, built-in POS, coil normally installed in an VW or Audi 1.8t 20v four cylinder engine. I am running these on my AAN based on a conversion that I did back in 2005.
For the OE AAN, ABY and ADU, they have power output stages (POSs) and individual coils. The only thing that I would call a coil "pack" then is the whole "20 V Turbo" plate with all five coils mounted to it, as in the diagram below. These OE coils typically last well into the 100,000 mile/160,000 km range and above.
