Yes its a coupe, and one of te best condition you'll find, it won it's class at the OMOC concours event at billing in 2008 and has been dry stored since. Full bare metal job underneath, 2 packed underneath etc.

I would sell it in a heartbeat but the economic climate (and time of year) means I'd end up taking a bad price and I spent £1000's on it and over 2 years of work.

Indeed, there was I time when I could have put it up for sale in the morning and sold it in the afternoon, I actually had a couple of guys give me their numbers at shows if I ever sold, but things are very different now.

sell both the S2 and cabrio, and get an Avant (s2 or RS2.) then the tough decision would be.... will you let the wife drive it to do the family jobs with the kids?

erm, my S2 is an avant.

I think the wife will use the A6 and I will use a combination of Cabrio and S2. You're right, I dont think I'd like the idea of the wife driving around in my S2 .

                  aahh sorry, didnt notice that,
no problem then likely, as the avant is good enough regarding space.
Not cheap to run, but definitelly has the space

What about an XC90? Ive only ever heard good things about them, meant to be brilliant for kids and plenty of seats/space etc, should be reliable and not extortionateley priced either nowadays i'd think. Then you could lose the A6 and keep the other fun stuff.

we'e managed for the last 6 years with an a6 avant and the s2....now the S2 is only for day trips and when both kids are out of the proper baby seats as the depth of the rear bench means you can't mount them safely. Now they are both in the infants seats which work with the standard seat belt we are truely able to utilise the car as a family motor again and the kids love it :-) Of course if you are bloody mined about keping the S2 like i was, then th full baby seat will go easily into the front seat.

There's a ton of space in the a6 and with a roofbox you should have no problems!

You say 'Both Kids'. If you have difficulty getting 2 child seats in an S2 what hope have I got of fitting 3 (or is yours a coupe?)? My kids are 7, 4 and under a month. All need seats for quite a few years. We got a narrower booster yesterday form halfords, it makes things a bit easier. I may look at an allroad when time comes to change the A6.

Well, having 2 children now and 3rd on order (no order confirmation yet ) I'm not going to change my 100 2.8 q avat automatic for a bigger car. Ok, A8 might fit the bill, and I do happen to know it can take 2 strollers and stuff for a weekend trip

My UrS4 is sedan, with "free-air" sub eating away boot space, and sedan boot isn't even in stock form that useable with strollers etc. oh and that 30mm spacer on steering wheel also means that there is no way to fit rear facing seat behind me, and being quite tall there isn't much leg room for 5yo behind me... So "have to use" my UrS4 as daily driver for going to work and taking 5yo to kindergarden (not that it's the most comfy daily hack with sub 5kg flywheel )
All quattro products have been dermatologically tested, and are safe for daily use.
