S2 for sale on autotrader

Lo all, I have made a few posts and done plenty of lurking and reading. An S2 still seems to be well at the top of my list ( I'm an ex 944 turbo man) looking for a classic with 4 seats and 4 wheel drive , whats not to like !

So has anyone any thoughts on or knowledge of the S2 coupe on Autotrader.

I'm not exactly letting the cat out of the bag by posting as I know he has had it for months. It was on for a bit more money and he's now dropped the price. I'm thinking 4,000 seems about right , however its bloomin miles away from me is the downside
( not that I havnt travelled hundreds of miles to buy a 'hobby car' before)

Any thoughts appreciated.

Looks like a nice car, not totally keen on the wheels but still thats a fair price for a 92k Coupe, not a bargain but looks ok imo

I've been tempted - keep looking for an S2 every so often... still forcing myself to wait though

It may well be but there's history behind it, alot of that is how it came from a tuning company (think it was revo and someone else) so its slightly rarer, its parked on the north circular in london last time I saw it.

That white has been discussed on here before I think... Its a LHD and was imported from a forum member IFAIR...

The Other one you are talking about on autotrader is it green and have an RS2 rear Badge and aftermarket wheels, Non epislode lights and a knacked front end??

As thats been talked about too IF ITS the same one...

Fair enough but would you been seen dead in it ?

Each to their own though and there is no doubt someone did all that because they liked it, just a shame for them that I'd guess most other don't.

Thats the one...

It got the wrong bumper, wrong headlights, indicators have been changed which would say to me its had a front ender at some stage.... No Front Grille Badge but thats easy sorted (No steering wheel Badge Either!!) and those orrible wheels, and an RS2 Rear Badge...

It seem to be an early ABY as its got the early inteior but that means nothing really...

Could still be worth a look but I would say it's never worth £4k and I would deffo have it checked out at the front....

That white s2 on autotrader is shocking yeah its got history but agree wouldnt be seen dead in that! and its expensive? the car has no character imo

Unless I am totally blind tonight whats wrong with the front bumper Ken ? looks identical to the S2 bumpers I've seen ?

No headlight washers...

From what was posted about this car before... All ABY's had epislods and all ABY S2's had headlight washers... It's one of the things that makes an S2 standout from the crowd...

So it looks like its had a frontender and has been fixed on the cheap using stock 80/90 parts...

That was the conclusion last time anyway!!

OP you are better looking at cars that come up for sale on here... At least they normally have history and sometimes a build thread etc...

Fair point on the bumper, Newsh doesn't have any on his though iirc, simple enough to smooth and all that, but you have to ask why.

As for buying off here, all the cars seem to be genuine and its a good community and source of info, sadly when buying a Coupe elsewhere you need to be on it immediately as if its a good deal All Type Cars will be in there.
