how does the orginal fasten to the grille - is there a bar that runs across the studs or does it screw into something?

These are so different to the S2 & Rs2 ones!!

Yes, there is a plastic plate that runs across the studs and is tightened with two M4 nuts.

I like the look of this and would be interested in a pair for my S4. Another thought is that there may be some interest from the US as there's a big urS community over there!

Few more pics of the fastening. I would almost say that it would be easiest to put the studs on the same places that is on the geniue badge. The plastic plate has grooves that centralizes the badge and holds it put. Of course you can still made a diy plate if you has lost the oem one.

I think we could just do the same as the S2 badges with a Vertical type mount adjusted to clear the slats...

No problem. Ok, it's also quite easy to drill new holes on the oem backplate if you want to use it...

Update...

I have now got my hands on a S4 Grille with Badge... (Thanks Bo!!) & All the info on the S6 Badge (Thanks Shane! & S4 Badges Thanks Thuppu!!)...

All this info has been passed on to my Badge desginer and we should have a sample drawing next week... The Badges should be ready a couple of months after that!!
