That's exactly why you have to buy a car you really like, because if you mind it it's going to last for sooooooooooooooooooooooooo long. Nice find.

indeed, I can tell from experience that they are really tough seats. I think it has the strongest cloth Audi ever made.

Looks very tidy, especially with the milage on it.

It seems the 80's are built to go forever, my stepdad has a '93 1.9TDi version, he bought it 3 months old with just 2000miles on it and then did about 40,000miles a year in it for about 9 years for work, then ran it for another 2-3years doing about 20,000miles a year due to changes in work. So its now on atleast 400,000miles (about 645,000kms) and the engine still runs brilliant, giving over 50mpg on a run and drove a hell of a lot nicer than its replacement, a 2yrs old (at the time) Volvo V40 1.9 turbo diesel (Renault lump) with better mpg at a higher speed too! It was only replaced as it took a few dinks and looked rather tatty - but its now a donor car for his brothers 80 Avant and where possible my S2 Avant. As a mechanic by trade, he absolutely loved his old 80 and speaks very highly of them, and the engines

On a similar subject but at the other end of the spectrum, my mother has an F-reg 2.0 petrol Audi 80 which she bought new and still has less that 50,000 miles on the clock. other than needing a polish it is totally mint.

Shame it has a slush box as she may upgrade to an A3 soon.

                Cheers n
