s2 on autotrader...the blue one

i want to be impartial on this but i thought i'd save some people the hassle of finding the info...

Was going to look at the blue S2 coupe on autotrader today, but did a quick reg check this morning...had a multiple insurance losses worst being a cat-c in 2009, and 7 owners!

Not sure if i should have let the put me off but i've decided against it. Right thing to do??

I saw that one on autotrader, didnt do any checks cus ive already got one thats better was just gunna go and have a look at it and see what it is like, maybe buy it if i could get it cheap? Its only 17 miles away from me so i'll still go have a look When i spoke to the bloke he said someone from London way wanted to put a deposit down over the phone (ALL TYPE CARS?)

The bloke said it had been hit in the rear, smashing a light and bumper!!!

yea, he failed to mention that to me...and didnt hear about the guy from london!

oh well, i dont feel as though i've missed out on 'the one'

like i said, i'll go look at it and report back. Does it really matter if its had some insurance claims against it? It could be silly things like a windscreen, it got scraped down a side and needed painting? He also said it had knocking noises from the suspension which turned out to be (previous owner?) fitted lowering springs (but not shocks) and not done it rite!!!

probably shouldnt but to me its putting me off a bit. otherwise i would have been driving back in an s2 today

Well ive been and seen it and its not great news, its a bit of a dog its had rear end damage, every corner has got a different tyre type, o/s/r shocker knocks! there is a massive oil leak on the engine, the oil filter has got white powder/ cake mixture type stuff on it!!!!!! general paintwork is bad, deep chips on panels, front bumper peeling, didnt test drive it so dont know how it goes or if its got any unusual noises, im sure there will be some it would cost a fair bit to get it in good nick, not worth the money hes asking.

So you were coming from Birmingham area then? He said someone was gunna come down but couldn't get a lift? If you want a genuine one its not the one for you

getting a lift was fine (got my dad roped in) but i just backed out.

yea, from birmingham. What made me think that in 16 years its had 7 owners so its been passed around alot and probably not cared for as much as id want one to be. and the "multiple" insurance losses put me off.

Im sure someone with lots of spare cash could make it a beautiful car!
