Audi Amersham parts are a joke

As title states. I have told them my chassis number and they are telling me I drive a 2.0 abt engined car.... Excuse me I'm fairly sure an s2 avant is a 2.2 20v turbo? Idiots. My car maybe the third avant registered but I'm still sure it's faster than my old 2.0 coupe. And all this cos I want a new bumper to car bracket.

Can anyone tell me the exact part number for the drivers side front bumper mounting bracket. I still have the plate that goes into the bracket but the bracket is a bit not straight anymore

They shouldn't need a chassis number for that - duhhh.

According to my data (looking at A80Q for MY93) the 'retaining bracket' is 895 807 139 and the 'retainer' is 895 807 131

These parts are apparently S2 and COMP specific - must be due to that front bumper - they look cheap too, but my prices are old so no guarantee.
Other A80 use sided front brackets but they are 2 x same part on S2 and COMP

now heres a story.....are you sitting comfortably??? Then il begin

got my s2 coupe back after a year of owning an avant. the coupe came back as a non runner with a crappy ebay manifold and no turbo.

When i eventualy decided to put it back to stock i obviously needed turbo gaskets, seals, nuts, bolts etc....no big surprise there.

when i called Plymouth Audi i gave them the reg number, engine code, year etc etc. the guy on the phone asked if it was an audi a2 s-line

at this point i was worried and it was a fri afternoon and saturday was the day id ruled out in the diary to finally get the s2 running right (3 months off the freakin road)

having felt like i had worked harder on the phone than the parts guy i had major concerns.....

so i called up Newton Abott Audi 30 miles away and ordered exactly the same parts just to be on the safe side and as a plan B if they screw the order up....

Saturday morning comes and i take a drive to Plymouth Audi to get there and be told the parts they ordered were believed to be wrong !!

Did i go mental at the manager! I had the decensy i felt to pull him to one side and tell him how pants his service dept are!

Told him about the phone call and that i KNEW they would fuk the order up (lets face it, doesnt that say it all that i felt i had to order from another Audi centre as i knew they were incompetent!) and that now i had to drive to Newton abott to pick up the correct parts:corey:

in the end i got there and they gave the parts at cost and 10% discount.

      Bring back VAG parts

Dude I think it's true for all service depts of audi across the country.

Paul when you say retaining bracket do you mean the bigger item that bolts to the car? When you say retainer is it the flat metal plate that the bolt does up against?

I am not 100% sure but both parts are less than a tenner (allegedly) - so that derisks things a bit.
