some interesting replies and the voting when I saw it last night was quite close but slowly getting the ur out in the lead.
I found gt500's reply intersting in that a urq would kill a rs2 in the corners, I must admit my old cq I absolutely flew thru country lanes which was a surprise as never been keen on that type of driving, more interested in motorway pull's against interesting stuff.
maybe I should have made it, chipped rs2 vs chipped rs2 spec urq
Depends what you want from a car, UR is a drivers car it's lighter and is going to handle better than the RS2
RS2 has all the creature comforts
UR will pull more heads any day of the week though
Indeed, having lived with a quattro for 15 years and an S2 for nearly 10, the above couldn't be more true. The Ur's going through an engine and drivetrain rebuild at the moment and I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy, the parts issue being resolved is 'hot air' mostly, and things that are fundamental to actually returning the engine into the car are NLA... (Oversized pistons for example - although we now have a set thanks to Pete Reeve). But as Jamo said, what do you want from a car?... If you said tonight, drive from the south coast to Scotland, I wouldn't think twice about taking the S2... If you said drive to the Isle of Man and rag the backside off a car for a weekend, I'd take a quattro...
As an all round package, I still think the chipped RS2 would be the stronger package against an RR quattro. It'd do both the Scotland and the Isle of Man thing with equal competence.

Well I cannot vote as i only have standard urq's But for a great smile/handling it has to be the urq ...................even audi admit that the s2 never ever came close to it either in sales or opinion
I had the loan of a very low mileage RS2 some time ago. I loved the interior, the straight line speed and the stopping power was impressive. What I didn't like was the looks. Yes there were differences from a normal estate, but not enough for me for such a thoroughbread.
I used to have an RS2 speced RR, 360 BHP, big brakes and uprated suspension. This has been my favourite car to date.
As a family car I would go for the RS2, but as an enthusiasts car I'd always go for the RR as to me it has the all round package.
I'm amazed the voting has sat at 60% in favour of the Ur all the way through really.... Be interesting to know how many Ur owners voted for the RS2 and vice-versa.
