    My new baby!

Well guys, I got her! Eventful journey so far. Got pulled by the police after just 50 miles for a smoking brake! Rear caliper hadn't released properly.2 hour wait and thanks to a brilliant road side mechanic I'm still goin....finally in England somewhere! She flys! Got 33mpg so far too, been well behaved!
There's a few things some tlc will cure but all in all she's in good nick!

I'll post some pics up in the morning...bit dark right now!

    What a car

Nice one fella. I'm guessing you didn't stay in a B'n'B then? 33mpg that's some steady driving is that.
Just some finishing touches to do now

Nah, we decided to get back. My dad needed to work went straight down the a9 and was extremely quiet. Sat at 60 - 75 most the way. I opened her up a few times and had the biggest grin ever!
Took it steady as I didn't know the roads and it was pitch black....and would rather not set fire to the brakes if its seized again! The Porsche brakes stop very fast
Just ordered some new rear discs and pads so will he back and running properly in no time.

Think I've decided to garage her after next week to work on over the winter then play properly in the new year. But in sure not driving her is goin to be too hard to resist!

33mpg... sorry, I don't understand Unless that's metres per gallon?

I think you've been done, the car can't be an S2, must be a 16v with S2 badges Have you looked under the bonnet to make sure the accelerator cable is attached

20mpg is going to come as a bit of a shock for sure

A mate of mine picked up a B5 S4, got 32mpg for 2 weeks then he's never beaten 29 since

at quattro....i've just got out of bed after not sleeping for 24hours and driving 500 miles, the pics will come soon!! just going to wash her then ill get some.

and yes...it is an s2 ahaha...the pinned back in the seat feeling, massive turbo noise and huuuuuuuuuuuuge grin confirms this!

i dont ever expect to get this mpg again...with such a long drive i was very aware of how light my pocket was feeling haha.

My highest average on an entire tank is just over 27mpg - driving the length of the M6 *yawn*
My lowest average on an entire tank is 11.4mpg - driving as the car was meant to be driven :mischeif:

My urban average is normally 22mpg but that does take some discipline and means that I have not embarrassed any Porkies, old M3s or small motorbikes on that tank

                  Cheers n

33mpg? Are you sure that's not gallons per mile?

                          A9.. boo! BORING!

Its a rubbish road, worse its rammed with cops when you decide that going 70mph is perfectly safe when there is NOTHING around then you get nobbled.
Sods law, bummer on seized caliper, happened to my picking hte 90 up as well. Shoudl have waited till your dad fell asleep then opened it up. I did that in a mini i bought many moons ago. 60 yes ok dad, when i could hear the snores got it up to a shade over 90 and bouncing of the rev limiter when he woke up...

I did say you would get 30mpg on the long run, is consistent speed that gives it decent economy, but now i expect the next tank to net you around half that.
