Thats quite strong money for a narrow bodied 993,could get a wide bodied 993 C4s (or C2s if you can find one) for a little bit more. OR, a more modern 996 C4s for that money or "tidy" 996tt for a few grand more.
For air-cooled charm & value for money, 964 is where its at, although, they've been going up in value again over last 6 months.Comment

My father bought one a few years ago, a life long ambition of his was to own a 911. We drove various 3 litres, 3.2's, 964's and 993's and decided the best car for track/daily use was the 993. 996 dosent even come into it, nice car but its not a real Porsche.
Of the 993's you have narrow body, wide body, 2wd, and 4wd and various combinations. We went for a narrow body 2wd car for two reasons, one the wide bodys are worth more and you dont really get anything more for your money, two we preferred the purity of the 2wd version, the steering on the 4wd models felt slightly numb, and dare i say it a little Audi like. Besides with three quattro's sitting in the driveway we just didnt need another 4wd car.
If you can afford one buy it and cherish it, they are wonderful cars. If a nice 964 or early 3.2 came along at the right money i would have one instead of the S2
