Good thing that they kept with the time honoured RS tradition of turbocharged engines, and not the weak 4.2L V8 that goes even more anemic after a few thousand miles (intake side clogs up with carbon deposits).

Surely should be wider at the rear?

Heavy mass at the front is counteracted by having a bit more rubber in contact with the road ...it's one way of improving the balance of grip.

I think they've made a mistake on that website as it's technically illegal to have wider tyres on the front axle of a vehicle as opposed to the back.

The TTS from about 5 years ago had 225 on the front and 235 on the rear, now that's legal

Is that for under steering safeness?

I guess that doesn't apply to 3 wheeled vehicles which have 2 car wheels at front, and just one at the rear like a motorcycle back wheel?

Interesting fact to know, as I've seen it done on many a race car before

In Germany it was legal and believe they are very careful.

AFAIK its only illegal in the UK if there is unmatched tyre profiles on the same axle.
