Any recommendations for standard sized grooved + drilled disks for a S2? Ditto for suppliers for same?

I have recently bought a pair of discs from www.brakeparts.co.uk they were ÂŁ70 for the pair, unfortunately I won't be fitting them until the spring, so can't comment on quality!

Grooved are better than drilled as the holes on cheaper discs just act as crack initiators and that's no use to anyone.
Stock sized brakes are a bit of a wast of time TBH, hence why so many fit upgraded items and any thread like this just turns into a list of 10+ people saying upgrade... upgrade... upgrade...
Answering your original question, grooved brakes are generally quite expensive and are not required. Better to get some Brembo plain discs and then spend the extra money on upgraded pads. The results will be far better for all but the most rigourous track use, which the OE brakes aren't up to anyway.
Suggest that Mintex M1144/1155 or EBC Red/Yellow could work well for some upgrading but really you're p'ing into the wind.Cheers'en, AndyC

EBC and Brembo combination is looking like just under ÂŁ200 including delivery, that's 1/3 the way towards a 996 conversion... not sure on the TT setup that Dest had, that could be a cheaper alternative.Cheers'en, AndyC

I managed to get some new Yellow stuff pads second hand for ÂŁ60 and the discs for ÂŁ70. It remains to be seen if my "budget" stock brakes are any good or not. (Comparatively speaking)....The Perfectionist

I found my freshly rebuilt stock G60s would haul up the Cq fine from 120+ mph when you really stamped on the anchors..... but only once. Then they were smoked and useless until they cooled down. So really if you think you need to upgrade discs / pads then as Rusty says may as well go the whole hog and get a proper set-up since the stock twin pots are simply not suitable for repeated heavy stops, even with my Cq20 let alone something like a remapped S2.. just my 2p

I wanted to go with stock disks, as the calipers that I am going to be using won't fit over bigger disks without changing the wheels...... I'll go with the Brembos then

I could not find Brembos in a stock size anymore. I even enquired at the reseller and they did not have any.
Let me know if you find some...
