    How to.... Aux Gauges

    Hi Guys

Anyone know how to remove the Aux gauges? Ie the small ones for Oil pressure, battery and Oil temp?

Please dont say its a whole dash out job.

    Thanks

Do a search, this has been covered numerous times.

Basically, you need to remove the trim around the handbrake cover, prise of the square screw cover in front of the button on the hand brake and also under the rear ashtray to release the handbrake cover, you can then work on withdrawing the centre console towards the rear of the car...

Cool cheers. I have just found a thread. Do I need to take the whole hand brake cover bit out and then the panel above for the heater controls just to get at the Aux Gauges?

Seems alot just to get at them when they are on a different panel of dash.

      Thanks

Grab the doc for the aux gauges and follow it up to removing the cluster.

Just yank out the 3 heater knobs, pull off that panel, take the rear ashtray out... deal with the handbrake cover - you don't need to take it off, just slide it back, whip gear stick cover off and Bob's yer uncle.

Hey dude Thanks for the offer. May take you up on that at some point but I think I can do this one on the drive. Especially after building my 69 beetle on the drive or in my garage. I have friends with a unit and a ramp but hopefully I wont need it for the aux gauges however if I do I have done something seriously wrong!

May take you up on that offer at somepoint so I can do my rear diff seals as they are a tad leaky and wanna sort them out.

You got an S2 then LSG?
