A friend of mine bought a Passat 2.8 30V synchro with a broken gearbox. It seems to be a DJR. Will a 6-speed box fit aswell without much hassle? If yes which one?
In case a 6-speed will fit I'm looking for one

ALL the trannys will fit: but remember the gearkode for the ratio... vw passat does have several diff ratio.and they does have the 01e tranny in... the gearkode are between the 2 upper boltholes in the bellhousing stamped in..( fx CGL 23456 or AAH 4343334)..
the boxes are the same bolt pattern, and size... but some minor change as the clutch, flywheeel, propflanges and so on.. but have you the 5 pot or any v5,v6,vr6, or v8 engine in; they will fit in... have you only 2wd ( front) it doesn,t matter.. but 4wd, 4-motion, or quattro.. you NEED the same in the front as in the rear end...
only the gearkode are for the year, and ratio....PM and i will answer
the 01a was for the older cars from 88 ...
no problem, should have updated this thread earlier. My mate bought an other gearbox that was not the same but made one box out of to 2 and it seems to be ok. The car drives again with no problems.
