Anyone ever heard of Norrbit brake parts?

    ...or had experience with it?

I bought a pair of discs for my coupe quattro from a Dutch website. I asked the seller before ordering what brand the discs were ''Brembo'' he said. Received the package yesterday reading ''Norrbit'' on the box and this paper was inside: http://www.brembo.com/NR/rdonlyres/D...on_Norrbit.pdf
They are clearly not Brembo items and I believe I could just have bought any other no-name brand from ebay...

it's kinda clear that it's a part of Brembo, but IMHO that doesn't mean it has the same quality nor should it be sold as being Brembo.

Agreed, if it's not stamped brembo and in a brembo box then the seller has misled you, I'd be a bit annoyed about being misled. The name brembo does give you the feeling that the product quality is of the highest standard. The watered down aftermarket version may be identical in all but material performance.

Reducing the cost of manufacture for a brake disc is done by reducing the % of heavy metal used in it's construction. Typically an expensive material such as Molybdenum; and this will reduce the life of the brake disc rather than necessarily the performance.

The only way to know is try them out, if it was me I'd look for some money back because you got a skoda when you were sold an audi. Then I'd put them on the car and beat the life out of them to see what they're like.

A bit of reading about molycarbide if you're interested, it's great stuff.

                sounds like great stuff indeed.

E-mailed Brembo directly now to hear what they have to say about this. The seller told me Norbitt is for the Scandinavian market, so maybe a forum member from up North has an idea about this

got a reply from Brembo today:

                  thank you for your message.

We confirm that Norbitt is a Brembo Brend and therefore Norbitt brake discs quality is exactly the same of a Brembo branded disc!

begs the question then, why would they own two brands competing in the market place for nthe same customers whilst offering the same producsts?

I don't know, it's weird indeed. Brembo is known all over the world and very few people know Norrbit. They could make more profit if they'd only sell Brembo I would think.

Strange story then, I'm going by what ''brembo'' told me and will fit the discs to my cq.
